Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics Statement
Al-Musyiri: Journal of Da'wah Management is a peer-reviewed journal committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and preventing all forms of publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles of transparency, academic integrity, and accountability, and refers to the best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere to the following ethical standards.
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors submitting manuscripts to Al-Musyiri must ensure that:
a. Originality and Plagiarism
Manuscripts must be original works and free from plagiarism. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. All submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection software.
b. Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Publication
Authors should not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal or publish redundant works describing substantially the same research.
c. Data Access and Retention
Authors should retain research data and be prepared to provide access to the data if requested by the editorial board for verification purposes.
d. Authorship of the Paper
Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made significant contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be acknowledged appropriately.
e. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Authors must disclose any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that may influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript.
f. Fundamental Errors in Published Works
If an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in their published work, they are obligated to promptly notify the journal editor and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Editors of Al-Musyiri are responsible for:
a. Publication Decisions
Editors have full authority to accept or reject manuscripts based on their scholarly merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
b. Fair Play
Editors evaluate manuscripts without discrimination based on race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.
c. Confidentiality
Editors must ensure that information regarding submitted manuscripts is kept confidential and only shared with the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial advisors, and the publisher as appropriate.
d. Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve their manuscripts through constructive feedback.
a. Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.
b. Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively, and observations should be clearly supported by arguments. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate.
c. Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors and notify the editor of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published works.
d. Conflict of Interest
Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors.
4. Ethical Responsibilities of the Publisher
The publisher of Al-Musyiri: Journal of Da'wah Management is committed to ensuring that commercial considerations do not influence editorial decisions. The publisher supports the editorial board in maintaining academic integrity, transparency, and ethical standards throughout the publication process.
5. Allegations of Misconduct
In cases of suspected misconduct (such as plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation, or unethical research practices), the journal will follow established ethical guidelines and conduct a thorough investigation. Appropriate actions may include manuscript rejection, retraction, correction, or notification to the authors’ affiliated institutions.
